Lure Tier List

Lures are the catch filter in How to Really Fish. Weapons kill what you land; lures decide whether anything shows up. The Roblox shop will keep renaming bait as the beta moves, so this page ranks jobs, not pixel-perfect item IDs. Pair it with how to catch and the fish list.

S tier

Boss lure (cash, when stocked). Use it only when ammo, food, and dock space are ready. Hooking a Kraken or whale with no gun is a donation. The boss guide is the rest of this rank.

Golden Rod (399 Robux) as a money lure. It does not raise bite rate. It goldens ordinary fish for 2x sell and skips bosses. If your hands already complete the loop, this is the strongest paid money tool in the catalog. It does not change rarity, catch chance, or weight, so it will not farm Myth Confirmed for you.

A tier

Mid-tier shop lure. This is what you buy after First $100. It is the difference between shrimp forever and sharks you can cook. If a weekly vending machine adds a named mid lure, it starts here.

B tier

Event or weekly lure. The studio updates every week. A patch lure can be A for seven days and B after the pool changes. Check weekly notes before you dump your wallet into last week’s bait.

C tier

Starter / free lure. It exists so you can earn First Catch. Stay on it only until a shop is reachable. People who “main” the free lure are the accounts stuck under $1000 (~21% First $1000 versus ~92% First $100).

D tier

Wrong-game bait. Lists copied from Steam How to Fish. They are not in this catalog just because the games share a joke. Do not craft a shopping list from that wiki.

Using a gun as a lure. You cannot shoot fish into existence. Dual Uzis do not replace bait.

How to shop without a datamined table

  1. Read the lure’s shop line. If it says a creature name, believe it more than a TikTok.
  2. Buy one, recast ten times, then decide. Ten blanks means the pool or the aim is wrong, not that you need a Robux pass.
  3. Keep a stack of mid lures when you go hunting legend or myth so you can swap without a dock run.
  4. Never spend the last of your cash on a boss lure if the weapon list still says you are on fists.

Ten-cast tests beat superstition. If eight of ten bites are starter fish after you bought a mid lure, you are aimed at the wrong water or the weekly pool shuffled — confirm on beta notes before you vendor the stack. If zero of ten bite, check controls first; a dry-land cast looks like a dead lure.

Carry two lure types, not twelve. One mid lure for cash sharks, one boss lure sealed until the dock is clear. Opening every bait at once is how solos run out of cash and then recast shrimp at a whale tile.

Co-op groups should share one boss lure at a time so four Kraken do not spawn on a tiny pier. Solo should carry extra mid lures because nobody is restocking for you.

Codes that grant lures will be listed on the codes hub when they exist. Until then, lures are a cash sink you fund with cooking, not with hopium. A code will not replace the mid-tier shop row; it might skip one purchase.

If a lure “stops working” after a patch, it is probably a spawn shuffle. Recast a cheap fish before you spend. Confirm on beta notes before you vendor your whole stack. Islands that are still “coming soon” do not have lure tables yet — anyone selling a TP menu of island bait is advertising fiction.

Golden Rod sits in this list because players treat it like bait. It is a sell multiplier for ordinary fish you can already hook. Buy the mid cash lure first. Buy the rod pass later, when the loop is boring in a good way.
