How to Really Fish Review

A fan review of the Crazy Fishing Friends Roblox beta, not the Steam hit.

Review

How to Really Fish is a free Roblox experience by Crazy Fishing Friends that opened in public beta on 24 August 2026. You crash a boat, catch low-poly sea creatures, beat them with fists or guns, cook or sell the haul, and spend cash on lures and weapons while the description teases a way home. It is inspired by Dazed Games’ Steam title How to Fish. It is not that game. This review covers the Roblox client only. For mechanical how-tos, start at the beginner guide.

The joke that actually plays

The loop is honest. A hooked clownfish with a crab claw will slap you. A shark will leave the water. A Kraken shows up early enough that most accounts own Kraken Slayer. That last fact is design, not a flex. The studio wanted a boss in the first sitting so the gun half of the joke lands before people bounce.

Compared with quiet Roblox fishing sims, this one is louder and shorter. You are not filling a bestiary of four hundred variants. You are trying not to fall off a pier while a 2500 HP whale occupies the skybox. If you wanted Fisch, you will bounce. If you wanted a five-minute dock brawl with friends, you are in the right place.

What works

Clarity. The official description lists the PC binds and says mobile uses on-screen buttons. The controls page exists because people still aim at houses, but the verbs are few: cast, reel, shoot, interact, sprint.

The sell loop. Cooking (Camp Cook sits at about 70% award rate) is a real decision. Selling a named trophy is a real mistake. First $100 is almost free. First $1000 is where the wiki’s money guide starts to matter. That curve is better than a flat infinite fish grind.

Co-op that is optional. Servers hold 50 people. Useful parties are two or three. Solo can clear the early Kraken. Later health bars want extra guns. The players hub is a session-setup page, not a gacha roster, which is the right call for this game.

Weekly cadence. The page promises weekly updates and new islands. Catalog rows already moved in early September (Dual Uzis around the 4th, Golden Rod on the 10th). A live beta that actually patches is more interesting than a frozen clone.

What is rough

Crowded docks. Fifty people on one pier is not a raid. It is line-of-sight noise. Casts steal each other. Boss lures become public events you did not schedule. Hopping servers is part of the skill curve, which is not explained in-game.

Information scarcity. There is no official encyclopedia. Lure-to-fish tables are inferred. Exact cash prices move. This wiki ranks weapons, lures, and fish with that caveat glued to the top. If you need a complete 49-creature Steam list, you are reading the wrong review.

Gamepass pressure. Dual Uzis at 259 Robux are forever full-auto. Golden Rod at 399 Robux is 2x ordinary sells, bosses excluded, no rarity bump. Neither is required. Both are advertised hard. A second pet slot existed in the catalog and was not for sale. Spend only when a pass removes a wall you have already felt — the spend planner exists for that argument.

Content ceiling. New islands are still a sentence on the page. Master Angler is a 0.3% badge. After the whale, the loop repeats. That is fine for a three-week-old beta and thin for a month-old daily driver.

Who should play

Play if you have friends on Roblox, a sense of humor about physics, and twenty minutes. Play solo if you like doing three jobs with two hands. Skip if you wanted a realistic fishing sim, a huge bestiary, or a story with named chapters.

Codes were not public on 12 September 2026. Do not install a random auto-catch GUI; this loop includes a gun fight, and dedicated listings were not verified. See codes and scripts.

Verdict

How to Really Fish is a sharp Roblox sketch of a better-known Steam joke. The sketch is already fun: the clawed fish, the dock shotgun, the early Kraken, the cooking multiplier. It is not a replacement for How to Fish on Steam, and it is not Fisch. As a free beta with weekly patches, it is worth a session. As a wiki subject, it needs players to keep trophies, ignore fake codes, and come back when the islands actually ship.

Official link sits on the links hub. The practical route is the walkthrough. If you only open one mechanical page after this review, open how to fight — catching without the gun half is how you earn Sleeping with the Fishes on purpose.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for How to Really Fish on Roblox.

Is How to Really Fish the same as Steam How to Fish?

No. Different studio, different client, different fish list. This review is Roblox only.

Is it pay to win?

Uzis and Golden Rod speed docks and ordinary sells. Cash shotguns still clear the early Kraken. See the spend planner.

Is it finished?

No. Public beta, weekly updates, islands promised. Track them on updates.

Should I play solo or co-op?

Both work. Early bosses are solo-friendly. The whale is easier with the co-op split.
